NHC Aesthetics & Wellness was established in 2018. We are owned and operated by Dr. Jay Shayevitz and his son Givon partnering with Nurse Practitioner Jessica McTygue to provide a service they felt went hand in hand with their weightloss patient’s desire to make a positive health and lifestyle change.
Jay Shayevitz MD MS
Dr. Jay Shayevitz has been a practicing physician for over 40 years. He has spent the majority of his career practicing anesthesiology and critical care focusing on pain management at academic medical centers in Michigan, Ohio, and New York. After years of witnessing and managing the negative long-term effects of obesity and unhealthy lifestyles, Dr. Shayevitz decided to focus on the root of the problem using a preventive medicine approach. Understanding the importance of physical and mental well-being, he saw an opportunity to provide even more services to help in his patients’ overall wellness.
Jessica McTygue MSN FNP-C
Jessica McTygue is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners who specializes in medical weight loss and aesthetics. Jessica holds Master of Science degrees in nursing education and advanced practice nursing. Over the course of her 20 plus year career as a nurse, she has specialized in oncology, palliative care, general medical/surgical and nursing education roles. Jessica understands the importance of feeling confident and comfortable about our outside appearance and its affects on how we feel on the inside, which in turn can help promote overall wellness, both mentally and physically.
Givon Shayevitz
Givon graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mercy College with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science. He has always been interested in the health care field and plans to become a Physician Assistant specializing in dermatology. He volunteered as an EMT-B in upstate NY before moving down to the NYC area and is currently a certified phlebotomist and EKG technician. Givon’s experience as a 911 EMT and as a medical assistant at Medi-Weightloss® has driven his passion for preventative medicine, as well as made him acutely aware of the importance of a holistic approach when treating patients
