Shalom Memorial’s magnificent new Jewish funeral home – completed in 2005 and on the grounds of Shalom Memorial Park – is the latest addition to the Shalom family. The funeral home features an elegant and modern chapel that seats up to 300 people. It also includes a private room for families, a selection room, a room designated for the Shomer, who recites psalms on behalf of the deceased, and facilities for the Chevra Kadisha to perform the ritual tahara preparation for burial.
Having the Funeral Home located on the cemetery grounds means that ALL of the care and preparation of loved ones for burial takes place at Shalom Memorial. It also means that there is no longer a need to travel in procession from one location to another.
We have found that offering both Jewish funeral home services and Jewish cemetery services in one location helps families simplify a difficult time. Being together enables Shalom to be able to provide a level of integrated care that surpasses what would otherwise be possible. The Shalom staff is able to assist with a passing, day or night, and can coordinate all aspects of the funeral and burial services.
