Erica Simon became interested in fitness and therapy at an early age. Her undergraduate studies were focused on the sciences in anticipation of a career in health and fitness. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Loyola University of Chicago in 1993 with a Bachelors of Science. Further focusing her interests in the therapy and fitness realm led her to obtain a Masters in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University/Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Since 1995 she has practiced physical therapy obtaining extensive experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy before starting her own outpatient practice.
A natural extension of Erica’s career in health and fitness has been her certification in multiple focused areas of the fitness realm. In 2003 Erica obtained her certification as a Pilates instructor and has maintained that certification. She has been teaching multiple Pilates classes each week ever since. Additionally Erica has obtained certifications in personal training and Zumba instruction.
All of these advanced levels of training and certification has led to a unique perspective and skill in the areas of physical fitness and wellness. Erica has developed a multifaceted approach to health and wellness, incorporating all areas of her expertise into her therapy and fitness practice. Her classes feature careful instruction to help the participant get fit in the most safe and effective way possible.
