Our journey started 20 years ago, when we decided to combine our love of Chinese food with our desire to provide our community with more kosher meal options. Chopstix opened its doors and started serving up tasty kosher takeout and delivery, and the rest has been history! Besides the cooking, our favorite part of the job has been getting involved in our neighborhood and sharing in so many events and celebrations with our customers. We’ve gotten to Sheva Brachos, birthday parties, bar mitzvahs and bat mitzvahs, and we’ve even had the privilege of shipping our dishes all over the country to places that don’t have kosher Chinese food. Every second has been so much fun, and we’re looking forward to many more years of making memories with our community ahead.
In our 23+ years of being open, we have delivered tens of thousands of catering dropoffs, in addition to the lesser known fact that we do full-scale catering. Having a Chinese bris, or celebrating your dad’s 75th birthday party with a backyard BBQ? We’ve catered both. Do you have 700 people in your school or office to feed? We’re
there for you. Chinese, BBQ, deli, American, shul kiddush, Israeli. All options are available from us.
Over the years, Chopstix has participated in a variety of community programs.
Every spring, Chopstix collects unopened food goods to donate to the Center for Food Action, and more recently, Teaneck Helping Hands. This program delivers food to the needy in our area, and we are proud to be a part of it.
Every summer we participate in Teaneck’s National Night Out, held at Votee Park, as well as donate food to the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corp (TVAC) for every blood drive they hold. Gotta make sure the donors replenish their energy!
Since 2000, we have been a part of the Teaneck Adopt-A Park program, adopting Votee Park as our own, and have even been known to drop off eggrolls and drinks to ballplayers from time to time. If you ever feel like having a Chinese picnic, you can go around the corner from Chopstix and enjoy a day at the beautiful Votee Park. And for as long as the Adopt-A-Highway program was in existence, we took on a 1 mile stretch of Route 4, sending our cleaning crew twice a year to keep the side of the highway clean and green.
For 10 years we have hosted an annual Holiday Party across the street from Chopstix in mid-December, bringing together food, music, magicians, and games for the whole family to enjoy. The only thing we ask of attendees is to bring a children’s gift, which we then deliver to Tomorrow’s Children at Hackensack, a well-known center for treating children with cancer and other serious illnesses.
