William K. Custom Clothiers, Jewish Clothing Store in New York, New York
William K. Custom Clothiers was founded in 2005 by Doni Krause, who at the time, was the owner of two large, high-end drycleaners, in the New York area. He knew that his clientele was quite wealthy, but almost never saw a great suit passing through his plant. After doing much research, he realized that even the most successful men were uncomfortable spending $3-8k on a well-made designer suit (and 10-30k on one with ultra-luxurious fabrics!). Even though these men could afford to have whatever they wanted, the value just wasn’t there.
After more research, he decided that he was going to start a company that would be the first to make a truly great custom-made suit, starting at around 1/3rd of the price of other great suit makers.
The largest obstacle that came his way, after successfully developing his envisioned product, was trying to convince customers, that it is indeed possible to provide them with a suit for 1/3rd to 1/5th of what other reputable clothiers or designers charge, as it seems too good to be true.
But it is true.
